Emily Parker Photography: Meet the Bristol Based Photographer

Emily Parker is a photographer based in Bristol, England. She loves to work along side bright colors, funky concepts and people who want to get creative!

Emily’s main goal through her work is to capture and celebrate “imperfections” to uncover a deeper meaning of the word beauty.

“To go beyond the surface of what you can see and really explore what you can feel. Primarily I work on fashion and portraiture and aim to capture various aspects of everyday life. In both realistic and conceptual manner.” says the artist.

What inspires Emily the most is the ability to provide a safe space for people to feel seen and heard, as well as a space to explore the beauty in themselves and the world around them. “In today’s society it can feel difficult to be at peace with your own body and mind. but what society never tells you is that beauty is really within our “imperfections”. Trends and fashion will always be changing from one thing to another, but what doesn’t change is your worth and ability to naturally be perfect already.”

As well as finding inspiration within nature and the natural beauty it provides. Emily gets very inspired by color and creativity when it comes to aesthetic. “I find that showing things off in a bold and eye catching way helps represent the idea of being unapologetic for who you are and what you stand for. Similarly to this, I get drawn to artists who express themselves unashamedly - whether that be painter, singers, dancers, writers, etc. - because I find that, that kind of rawness and realism within art is a way of offering yourself to the world in the most honest and vulnerable of states. And I don’t think people always appreciate just how never wrecking that can be.”

In the near future, Emily has plans for some projects. Some very meaningful and dynamic, others more personal and emotional.

“My hopes for my broader future within my work is, hopefully, to become a full time photographer doing jobs that I love. To work on big, colorful, outrageous projects with interesting concepts and to meet other artists who share my interests in those aspects.”

Emily hopes to meet and possibly one day get to work along side some of her biggest inspirations like, Tim Walker, Lana Del Rey, Dita Von Tesse, Charlie Howards, Bonnie Doman and Peggy Shoots Film (Carianne).
