Allison is an 18 year old artist and goes by AE for all her art related things. Her current main focus is on these (usually) black and white dogs that can be seen throughout her pieces. “They are storytellers and central to what I do. Sometimes they are omens and sometimes they are bringers of good news. It all depends on how the viewer interprets the art. “ - says Allison.
She finds inspiration from many places. Both in visual art and poetry. Allison pulls heavily from the time spent outside, time spent with loved ones, loss, and music. Lots of music. Allison says she is usually always listening to something while she works, and it is often reflected in the pieces outcome.
“It is all of these things that make me want to be an artist. I want to show others the beauty that I find in my surroundings. If I can help another person experience a sense of wonder, then my work has been a success.”
Allison has also recently fallen in love with ceramics. Everything about the craft speaks to her. From the tediousness to the outcome. “It feels like home in my hands. I love to expand my ceramics practice while still being able to focus on mural work and commissioned paintings.”
In January, Allison completed her first mural and decided she only wanted to work bigger. If she could create work in a ceramics studio, but still be able to paint full time, her life would be complete.
